POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
A significant threat of severe weather has led to the postponement of the Corinth Home & Garden Tour.
The event will be moved to next Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. More details here

May 1st will be a great day to visit Corinth
Due to possible bad weather, the 2010 Corinth Home & Garden Tour has been postponed until Saturday, May 1. The Home Tour joins some great events already scheduled in Corinth on that day. Those events include Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, 29th Annual Corinth Coca-Cola 10k Race, The Green Market at the Corinth Depot, Downtown Corinth Sidewalk Sale, and Corinth Symphony Orchestra concert. Admission: $10 per person

The three show places on the 2010 tour are all on Fillmore Street in historic downtown Corinth, Mississippi. These structures are located within walking distance. The 2010 tour includes:

The Oak Home
Columns Home
Fillmore Street Chapel

The one block of Fillmore Street will be blocked off to traffic and three large fundrasier tents will be set-up. These tents will be:

Greens & Things Tent - offering plants, yard art, bird houses, hanging baskets, etc.
Sweets & Things Tent - offering homemade cooked/baked items, etc.
Rest Tent - nice seating area for rest offering a refreshing raspberry/plum tea and pastry.

Music will be performed inside the Fillmore Street Chapel during the tour. The current line-up includes "The Smith Family" of Selmer, Tenn., Chad Dickerson of Corinth and Shelby Pratt of Corinth.

A fine art slient auction will also take place during the tour inside the Fillmore Street Chapel.

All proceeds from the tour will be donated to the Verandah/Curlee House Preservation Commission.


Entertainment Lineup - Fillmore Chapel

* 10:30 a.m. - The Doug Smith Family – from Stantonville, TN
Instrumental concert featuring 11 family members on strings, brass, piano, mandolin, guitar, and even banjo! A variety of music will be presented in various groups – from classical to mountain music.

* 11:30 a.m. - Chad Dickerson – Tenor Vocalist
Nashville recording artist – Owner of Sanctuary Antiques and Garden Shop in Corinth - a smooth tenor voice to soothe the soul! He will present a concert of familiar jazz standards.

* 12:30 pm. – Cindy Little Mathis – Harp; Ann Little Woodhouse - Piano
The Little Sisters will perform some of their favorite harp and piano duets. Peaceful melodies and beloved hymns will be included in this recital from these two local musicians.

* 1:30 p.m. - Beth Nichols Middleton – Soprano Vocalist
Native Corinthian – We welcome her back home for a vocal concert! She will present a recital of varied classical literature. She serves as assistant Choral Director and Children’s Choir Director at Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham Alabama.

* 2:30 p.m. – Sara Ellington – Organist; Bobbie Campbell – Flutist
This concert will spotlight the Chapel pipe organ built in 1900 by Henry Pilcher’s sons, Louisville, Kentucky. The selections will be a combination of sacred and classical works featuring organ solos, organ and flute duets, and piano and flute duets.

* 3:30 p.m. - Shelby Pratt – Soprano Vocalist
A senior at Corinth High School, Miss Pratt has studied voice extensively – with emphasis in opera. She will present a varied vocal program of art songs, contemporary Christian songs, as well as Broadway and Beatles favorites! Her brother, Brooks Pratt, will accompany some of her selections on the guitar.

30 minute concerts will be presented on the half hour throughout the day. 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30; 2:30; 3:30
